On February 26, 2026, a regular meeting of the Working Group of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on the work carried out over the past year and reviewed the draft Work Plan of the Council for 2026. Proposals aimed at strengthening inter-chamber cooperation, expanding ties among the business communities of the CIS member states, and attracting investment were also considered.

It is worth noting that in 2026 the chairmanship of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS was transferred to the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2025 the Council was chaired by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The main objectives of the Council are to develop cooperation among chambers, enhance the role of chambers of commerce and industry in promoting joint innovative development, support and develop small and medium-sized enterprises, intensify exhibition and fair activities, create a unified information space, expand interregional and cross-border cooperation, develop public-private partnership mechanisms and train qualified personnel in the field of entrepreneurship.
