On May 6, 2026, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahmonalizoda Farkhodshhoh Rahmonali, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Tajikistan, Alenka Sukhadolnik.
Rahmonalizoda F.R. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, relations between Tajikistan and the countries of the European Union, including the Republic of Slovenia, have entered a new stage of development.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of economic and trade cooperation. It was noted that bilateral trade turnover has been growing in recent years. However, it was emphasized that both countries have significant potential for expanding trade and investment.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber also called for the creation of a Tajik-Slovenian Business Council to establish direct B2B business ties, attract leading Slovenian pharmaceutical companies to establish joint production ventures in Tajikistan's free economic zones, and collaborate in green energy, high technology, and economic digitalization. In conclusion, the parties expressed their willingness to expand practical cooperation and the participation of both countries' business communities in international exhibitions held in Tajikistan and Slovenia.
