On May 26, 2026, the regular meeting of the Working Group on Transport and Logistics of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Business Council was held via videoconference.
Representing the Republic of Tajikistan at the meeting were Larisa Pavlovna Kislyakova, Chairperson of the Committee for Transport and Logistics Development under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as experts of the national part of the SCO Business Council from the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, participants discussed the establishment of a unified electronic communication platform for publishing materials related to the activities of the Working Group, testing container transportation routes among SCO member states, as well as proposals from companies aimed at strengthening cooperation.
Ms. Kislyakova presented a proposal on conducting pilot international road transportation along routes and through border crossing points in accordance with the “Agreement between the Governments of the SCO Member States on Creating Favorable Conditions for International Road Transportation”.
The participants of the Working Group supported the proposal and included it in the meeting Protocol for further consideration and elaboration.
The activities of the aforementioned SCO Business Council Working Group are aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states in the field of transport and logistics, identifying existing challenges, and enhancing interaction between government institutions and the private sector of SCO member states.
