On June 19 and 20, 2026, the first meeting of the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan Working Council took place in Dushanbe. It was co-chaired by Rahmonalizoda Farkhodshhoh Rahmonali, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Mamasadik Sabirovich Bakirov, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, as well as business circles from both countries, participated.
At the opening of the meeting, F. R. Rahmonalizoda noted that in recent years, economic and trade relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have reached a new stage of development thanks to the wise policies of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Honorable Sadir Japarov. As a result of joint efforts, mutual trade turnover between the two countries has significantly increased in 2025 and early 2026.
During the meeting, it was noted that the establishment of the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Council as a new mechanism for direct cooperation between business circles will facilitate the expansion of trade and investment ties and the implementation of joint projects to increase mutual trade.
Representatives of relevant agencies from both countries presented industry reports at the meeting. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management "Tajinvest" presented information on investment opportunities and the activities of free economic zones. During the meeting, a detailed report was presented on the activities, achievements, and role of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan in private sector development. The Kyrgyz Republic also presented detailed reports on the activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, investment opportunities, and free economic zones.
At the end of the meeting, a protocol on the first meeting of the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Council was signed, and fruitful B2B meetings were held between business representatives from both sides, attended by the heads of more than 10 leading Kyrgyz companies.
As part of the meeting of the aforementioned Working Council on June 20, 2026, a visit was organized for a delegation of Kyrgyz entrepreneurs to the country's leading enterprises, including Gulistoni Dushanbe LLC, Avas Zafaron LLC, and Arvis LLC.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the production capacities and export opportunities of domestic enterprises.
It should be noted that a business delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic visited the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the International Exhibition "INTER HEALTH AND BEAUTY TAJIKISTAN - 2026" and participated in the opening ceremony, where they were introduced to the products and production facilities of domestic and foreign companies.
