On April 16, 2026, a meeting was held between Rahmonalizoda Farkhodshhoh Rahmonali, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Mark Gray Marongwe, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Zimbabwe to the Republic of Tajikistan, based in Moscow, Russian Federation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rahmonalizoda F.R. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Great Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the Republic of Tajikistan is effectively establishing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries around the world, including countries on the African continent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the level of bilateral relations and opportunities for developing economic and trade cooperation, and emphasized the need to expand direct ties between the business communities of the two countries.
The Chairman of the Chamber noted that trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Zimbabwe is currently at a nascent level, and there is significant untapped potential for its expansion.
The parties also discussed prospects for developing cooperation in a number of priority areas, including mining, agriculture, light industry, and tourism.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation and developing trade relations between the two countries.
