On April 17, 2026, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between Rahmonalizoda Farkhodshhoh Rahmonali, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Tomir Fathi Abdussalom Hammod, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Tajikistan, based in Tashkent.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rahmonalizoda F.R. noted that, based on the wise and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the Republic of Tajikistan is constantly expanding friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries, including Arab countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing economic and trade cooperation, emphasizing the need to expand direct ties between the business communities of the two countries.
Rahmonalizoda F.R. noted that, despite the positive trade turnover between the countries in recent years, there is enormous untapped potential for increasing it.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the creation of a joint Tajikistan-Egypt working council as a productive mechanism for developing cooperation between entrepreneurs.
At the same time, the meeting focused on priority areas of cooperation, including pharmaceuticals, textiles and cotton processing, agriculture, and tourism. The establishment of joint pharmaceutical ventures using the privileges of Tajikistan's free economic zones, as well as expanding cooperation in cotton processing and agricultural exports, were also discussed.
In conclusion, the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen economic cooperation and develop trade relations between the two countries.
