On May 21, 2026, in the hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of the “Days of St. Petersburg in Dushanbe”, the Trade Dialogue between the Republic of Tajikistan and St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, was held. This event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of partnership relations between the two cities and was organized in accordance with the consent and instructions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This event was held under the leadership of the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Rajabzoda Haidar Usmon and a member of the Government of St. Petersburg - Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations Evgeny Grigorev, and was attended by official delegations and business circles of both sides. Representatives of state bodies and large domestic state-owned and private companies and enterprises participated in the event from Tajikistan.

The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber opened the event with a positive note, emphasizing that, thanks to the strategic policy of the heads of the two states, interdisciplinary relations between Tajikistan and Russia have entered a qualitatively new stage. It was noted that the Chamber, with a base of more than 1,200 members, is ready to make a significant contribution as a responsible body for connecting leading companies of St. Petersburg with domestic partners.

During the event and direct B2B negotiations, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation, such as urban infrastructure, energy, industry and metallurgy, information and communication technologies, as well as healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and thoroughly examined the opportunities for cooperation in these areas.

Also, during the event, business, investment and tourism opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan using tax and customs privileges offered by the Government of the country were presented to the participants through presentations and videos.

At the end of the event, the parties agreed to activate a direct information exchange chain and a cooperation plan for the second half of 2026 after the end of the visit.

The event ended in an atmosphere of friendship and good understanding.
