On July 1, 2026, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahmonalizoda Farhodshoh Rahmonali, with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Furuta Keiko, the main goal of which was to expand direct ties between the business circles of the two countries.

At the beginning of his speech, he noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, today Tajikistan's relations with Japan are at a qualitatively new high level, and the indicators of trade cooperation are developing steadily. It was emphasized that by 2025, the volume of mutual trade turnover between Tajikistan and Japan had increased by almost 30 percent.

Rahmonalizoda F. R. expressed the Chamber's readiness to support the private sector and Japanese investment projects, and proposed several specific strategic initiatives, including the establishment of a Tajik-Japanese Joint Working Council, attracting grant funds from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support the private sector of the Republic of Tajikistan, etc.

Rahmonalizoda F. R. also called on the Ambassador to assist in choosing a favorable and visible location for the establishment of the National Pavilion of Tajikistan in Yokohama, in connection with Tajikistan's participation in the Japan International Horticultural Exhibition in 2027, for which the Chairman of the Chamber has been designated as the Commissioner General.

The Japanese Ambassador expressed his readiness to support the initiatives of the Chamber and accelerate private sector cooperation.

The meeting was held in a friendly, constructive and understanding atmosphere.
