On July 9, 2026, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Rahmonalizoda Farhodshoh Rahmonali, and the Deputy Head of Mission and HM Consul at the British Embassy in Tajikistan, Ms. Zeenat Khanche.
At the opening of the meeting, Mr. Rahmonalizoda F. R. emphasized that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and European nations, particularly the United Kingdom, have advanced to a qualitatively new level.
During the meeting, the parties noted that the volume of bilateral trade turnover has gained a high growth momentum in recent years, while a vast untapped potential still remains to significantly expand these figures.
In the course of the meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber presented a comprehensive overview concerning the activities, institutional achievements, and sub-structures of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In particular, significant performance indicators were highlighted, such as the organization of business forums, trade missions, and specialized exhibitions both domestically and internationally, alongside facilitating the active participation of domestic entrepreneurs in leading global exhibitions to robustly promote the "Made in Tajikistan" national brand.
To transition these business linkages into a systematic framework, the Chairman proposed the official establishment of the Joint Tajikistan-United Kingdom Business Council, aiming to ensure the regular implementation of trade missions and direct B2B matchmaking events destined to secure tangible commercial and financial contracts.
For her part, the Deputy Head of Mission and HM Consul of the British Embassy expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the Chamber for the warm hospitality, conveying her full readiness to consider this pivotal proposal and to expand further mutually beneficial cooperation.
